Weekend in Marco Island

We took a road trip this weekend.
We went to Marco Island with our good friends,
Bill and Kathleen.
There were several stops along the way...

Our destination was the home of the Leonia Family.
Our wonderful friends and part-time neighbors.
The showed us such a great weekend.
Lots of laughs, amazing food (too much), and some good R&R.

On Saturday we celebrated Kyle's 10th Birthday and
watched Jeff rough up his opponents on the football field.

Meeting our OB

Today we had our first appointment with our OB.
LOVED him!!
He was very patient.
Answered all of our questions.
He had a great sense of humor.
Confirmed that all new mom's spa the entire week before delivery.
No ultrasound - but we were able to feel the little peanut.

We see the neonatologist on October 1st - should have new ultrasound pics then.

I apologize that we haven't very good at keeping our site updated.
I promise we will do better.
I also promise to post pictures of our fat tummy's... Curt and I are gaining weight together.
We recommend "Cake Batter" from our good friends Ben & Jerry.

Fishing with Pudney

My colleague and friend Christine was visiting this weekend and Curtie took her Ocean Fishing for the first time. The two of them are featured here with Christine's HUGE Baracuda. She also helped catch Yellowtail Snappers to replenish the local restaurant's supply as the storm prevented incoming shipments and local commercial harvest. For her efforts we provided her with free lodging and a lobster dinner.

SeaWorld Orlando

I had my first work trip since I've been pregnant.
Orlando.
The hectic pace of being on-site is not conducive to the amount of sleep we prefer these days.

But as usual we found a little time for fun... SeaWorld.

Marnie (6 months prego) and I (2 months prego) took this picture so that when our children beg us to go in the future we have proof that they were already there and quite frankely they didn't like it....
They were too hot.
They couldn't go on the rides.
They felt like throwing up the entire time.

Ultrasound: 6 weeks, 4days

We had our final appointment at the Fertility Clinic today.
We are 6 weeks, 4 days pregnant.
The white mark in the black uterus below is our baby.
Pretty cute, huh? Curt refers to it as the "packing peanut".

We received a healthy report.
My cervix has closed and my uterus is expanding as it is suppossed to.
The baby is actually measuring 6 weeks, 3 days - so right on track.
We were able to see the heart beat as well as hear it - AMAZING!!!!
The heartbeat was strong at 118 beats / minute.

We will begin seeing our OB on September 15th.

To date I have been feeling OK.
I have only thrown up a couple of times, but feel like I could quite a bit.

I don't have any crazy cravings - hot fudge sundae's for breakfast were part of my youth, so that's seems normal.

I have learned how powerful my nose is... I can't ever recall being able to smell through walls.
I also learned at a young age that boys are smelly - boy are they!!!
And red wine no longer has the aromatic appeal it used to.

I am able to eat all food, but pork.
I mistakenly tried that on Sunday night, but the little one let me know that wasn't OK.
Curtie thought it made sense due to the Jewish heritage.
