Leaving MN

We got up early this morning to try and
pack all our belongings that had been
scattered throughout Grandma and Grandpa's
house. We also wanted to make effort
to put the house back in order ~ at least the
best we could, we all know Sandy double-
checked things when she got home =)

Once we had the car packed, we changed
Sawyer's diaper and put him in his clothes
for the trip. Grandpa Jon was having
some last minute snuggles when....

Oops!!

Sawyer and Grandpa had to be changed,
but it allowed us all to say good-bye's
through laughter!!

Memorial Day

Sawyer had such a good night sleep, look how happy
he was this morning...

Auntie Kori, Sophi and Signe came over for Grandpa
Jon's famous heart-shaped waffles this morning. The
girls took turns having one last chance to hold Saywer.

Sawyer then decided to take a rest on Auntie Kori's
shoulder.

But he woke up in time to have an anticipated visit from
the Knutson family.
Sawyer meeting Auntie Andrea

Gray loved Sawyer's Elmo PC from Jack

But he wasn't too certain of Sawyer - he needed some
assistance so that he was gentle =)

We spent the afternoon with Great GM and Grandma
Kim came over for a visit with Sawyer. We were able
to get yet another four generation photo... Great GM, with
her daughter Kim, her son Curt, and his son Sawyer...

What a great holiday and a nice end to our week in
Minnesota!!

First DQ Visit in the Caddie

Dairy Queen is a favorite past-time with Grandma
and Grandpa Oleson and in the summer Dairy
Queen visits happen in the Cadillac with the top down,
wind blowing through your hair.

The weather on Sunday evening cooperated so that
Sawyer could have his first DQ experience.

We put a little ice cream on his lips, but no reaction.

A fun outing and I'm certain the first of MANY!!!

Sawyer Visits with Dunlap Cousins

Sawyer had the opportunity to go over to his cousins
this afternoon... I know he cannot wait to get a bit bigger
to play with Emma, Hudson, and TJ. They have so many
neat pets and fun toys!!

And with TJ

Cute story: TJ told me that he was very excited to
have baby Sawyer as a new cousin because his other two
cousins are dogs.

Sunday Morning

On Sunday morning the Bromenshenkel's
came over for a visit with Sawyer.

Check out how cute Sawyer is dressed
today... His "sign" shirt is compliments
of the Podmers and his jeans from
Auntie Kori... you will not in blogs from
later in the day he has changed outfits
as he had a little accident.

Baptism Celebration

Following Sawyer's baptism we had an entire day of
celebration. We started with a Famous Dave's Lunch
and moved into a custom brew from Uncle Neil ~
"Oh, what a Honey Ale".

Sawyer's great grandparents made the long trip from
Duluth. Below is a four generation picture ~ Ed and
Dorothy Slonim with their son Al, his son Curt, and his
son Sawyer. So cool!!

Great grandpa Ed checking the little guy out

Great grandma Dorothy enjoying some one on one
time with Sawyer

Uncle Neil finally gets an opportunity to have a moment
with Sawyer ~ he stands in a long line behind Auntie
Kori, Sophi and Signe

Our family...

Uncle Tom stopped over on his new Harley ~ such
a cool dude!!

And the kids had a good time...

Signe our fashionista tried out a golf
ball belt - I think she pulls it off!

Cousin Kate and Isabella having lunch

And Isabella enjoying dessert!

Sawyer's Baptism

Sawyer was baptized today at House of Prayer in
Richfield, MN.

It was a small, intimate, and wonderful ceremony.
Pastor Chuck made sure that all of our family participated.

Sawyer and his Godparents... Sammy and Kori

Grandpa Oleson had in church in honor of him

Sawyer was wonderful - not a peep! We all went back to
Grandma and Grandpa Oleson's for a celebratory lunch.

There was a HUGE error made at the church... We did not
get a picture of Sawyer with his Grandma and Grandpa
Oleson... Many fingers have been pointed on how this
possibly could have occurred, but we did take corrective
action and snapped this picture of the three of them.

Bowling

Sophi and Signe wait with their Dad for Captain
Curt to go on the bowling adventure...

All of the kids had a blast!!
Apparently they are all excellent bowlers.

Duluth Trip

Grandpa Bob Plachecki passed away on May 13th after
a long and wonderful life. Although he is missed we all
can find peace knowing that he is healed and in a better
place.

The celebration of his life was today in Duluth. It was a
nice service followed by lunch and then a gathering at
Grandma P's house.

The sad circumstances brought about the opportunity
for Great Grandma Plachecki to meet her newest "great".

Four Generations... Great Grandma Clarice, her son Larry,
his daughter Kelli and her son Sawyer... Awesome!

I made the trip with my sister Kori and her girls. It was
a long day for all of us. We had several rules in place and
if followed the big reward was a night of bowling with
Captain Curt and Daddy Neil (see next entry).

Signe was very helpful with Sawyer and can be seen below
giving him a bottle before we headed back down to the
Cities.

FINALLY... Sawyer meets Grandpa Al and Uncles Reid and Adam

After 5 weeks of anticipation, Sawyer finally met his
Grandpa Al

And he also got to meet his Uncle Reid and Uncle Adam

Sawyer certainly felt the love from these three and
we know he will have so many fun times with them!!
