Look who is standing on his own!!

Just as we had suspected Sawyer was going to become mobile when we were not looking.... Well, he didn't take a step, but he took a step closer.

We turned our backs for a second and when we turned around guess who was standing in the middle of the room eating his snack??

We couldn't get him to take a step, but he did several squats and was very proud of himself.... we forgave him the mess he made on the floor!

Tragic Bull Shark

A careless fisherman caught this beautiful 8'10" pregnant female Bull Shark on Sea Oats Beach (our backyard) and tragically left her there to die. Her body was donated to Science, but how amazing it would have been to study her alive in the ocean.... And she was about to give birth to 12 babies (6 female, 6 male). I hope that fisherman does not sleep well!!

And for those of you that really visit the blog for pictures of Sawyer...

Sawyer - 1 Year Stats

Sawyer had his one-year check-up today. Our son is growing like a weed and very healthy!

His Stats:
Length - 30.25 inches (a whole half-inch in the last month) / 60th percentile
Weight - 19 lbs, 8 oz (the little bugger will just not put on weight) / Less than 10th percentile
Head - 18.5 inches (big brain) / 75th percentile

He wore his new Birthday outfit from Marnie to the doc - such a fashion plate!

Doesn't quite fill out the butt of his designer jeans...

Afternoon Snack with Daddy

When Sawyer woke up from his nap this afternoon he and daddy sat down to a some cheese and crackers and a little basketball on TV. They were too cute - I had to capture the moment. (Sawyer went down for his nap with wet hair, apologies for the "bad do")

I love this - they both look into the game!

Daddy moved the crackers away from Sawyer because how many should he really have in his mouth?? This is Sawyer getting smart and moving to the other side of the table for better reach... Very exciting!

Taco Night

Sawyer would have made Auntie Kori proud this evening and boy did he miss her!!

We had Auntie's favorite dinner and Sawyer joined in on Taco's for the first time. We gave him tortilla chips with taco meat, avocado, cheese and tomato... LOVED THEM!!

We took some pictures.... He can't wait to have Taco's with Auntie Kori.

Playing with the Hose

Sawyer and I headed out to his pool this afternoon.... the hose was way more exciting!!
I also managed to capture a couple of pictures in his new snugly beach towel from Grandma Loonie.

Our Climber

Sawyer is really getting into stuff these days. This morning I found him sitting on top of his toy box!! What's next??
