Oh My Tarpon!!

You all know Curtie so these pictures
speak for themselves...

Life's a Beach!

Sawyer was two weeks old yesterday...
We had big plans to celebrate at the beach,
but Mommy fell ill. I had body aches and a
fever - it was very bizarre, but only a 12
hour bug. So, we opted for Plan B and laid
on the couch all afternoon.

Feeling 100% today we headed for the beach...

Dipping his toes into the Ocean for the first time

Lounging in a beach chair

And leaving his footprints as he left...

After all that activity he had a great feeding and then
passed out on his Boppy while Mommy caught up on
some long over-due phone calls.

I was able to move him to his chair without a peep!

If you are curious about his wild hair today it was a
result of a bath and air dry without brushing.
The bath was much needed as he peed several times on
himself this AM - the first was directly in his own face.
It was difficult for me to help him out through the
laughter!! So, for today we have give him a cousin
Dawnie nickname.... Mr. Pee Pants.

Hear Me Cry

I took some footage today of Sawyer doing his lung exercises...

(Make sure you have your volume on)

This is the "change my pants, please" cry!

Bird Watching

Sawyer had his two week well-check today and his growth
report is as follows;
*Gained 1/2 inch in head circumference
*Grown 1/2 inch in length
*Gained 8 oz in weight

The concerns over his hospital weight loss no longer
exist, he has exceeded birth weight within two weeks.

We also saw the ENT specialist for his nose and tongue tie.
Bottom line the Rx was to feed and watch grow. His right
nostril is pretty plugged, but expected to open up with
growth. It is also expected that his nose cartilage will
continue to work itself back into place. And the tongue
tie is not severe enough to warrant concern at the moment.

How interesting is this picture??

So, after a very long day we were unwinding on the couch
when behind my head I hear some tapping on our
living room window. I quickly note that it's a bird. Curt
disagrees and tells me it's a bat. He goes outside to get
a closer look and as the words "shut the door" are coming
out of my mouth the little bird flies in. The picture above
is the bird perched on the INSIDE of our living room
window.

I tried to capture the moment while demanding Curt
get that bird OUT!!!

The hunt...

The chase...

The catch...

Sawyer laid back and watched the whole thing happen.

Sawyers run in with the Cops

Sawyer was just kicking back in his Papasan today...

When the local law enforcement stopped by.
Sawyer took full advantage to try and melt her heart!!

He got very upset when she saw through his charm!!

Yet, still plenty of time to try and convince her that one
or two lobster out of season when he gets a bit older could
be forgiven.
Thanks for coming by to visit Sawyer, Liz!!

Bonus Shots from Auntie Kori's Camera

Auntie Kori just gave me the chip from her camera
to download and there were some great pictures that
I thought I would share...

10 days old - Chiropractor Visit

Sawyer had his first visit to the Chiropractor today.
We had Dr. George check him out and make sure
he was in alignment after months of being squished!!

Here is Dr. George adjusting Sawyer...
(Check out Sawyers shirt today - you could guess
that was from Auntie Kori)

And Dr. George with Sawyer following - he needed minor
tweaks.

Our friends and neighbors, Nick and Carol, brought over
dinners to be enjoyed at a later date (so wonderful!!) and
to spend a little time with Sawyer.

Some of you may not know, but during my pregnancy I
regularily enjoyed a cupcake from Midway to kick-start
my breakfast. So, Lyndsey brought over "congrats" cupcakes
this afternoon.

And a bonus shot of Sawyer with eyes open... I caught him
mid-conversation with Grandma O.

9 Days Old

Sawyer sported his first pair of shorts today...
How about those legs??

And how cute is his shirt from our good friends Danielle
and George...

We then took him for his first visit to our favorite
"Midway Cafe" for breakfast.

Sawyer then spent his afternoon lounging by Bill and
Kathleen's pool... tough life he has!!

First Boat Trip

Sawyer enjoyed his first fishing trip this evening.

According to his father, he jumped off a 100 lb Tarpon.
But if that hadn't happened, Auntie Kori was going to
bring it in for the little guy.

The sunset was beautiful, water was like glass, and there
was hardly a breeze - it was a perfect evening for Sawyers
first boating experience.

Sawyer and 3 of his favorite ladies (now, don't anyone
else feel bad - he hasn't had a chance to spend quality
time with you yet!!)

Now, I am not pushing a career on my child at this point.
I am also not wishing celebrity on him.
But I am pretty damn certain he could be in a Diet Coke ad:

One Week Old

Sawyer had a REALLY BIG DAY today....

1. He was one week old
2. He lost his umbilical cord stump - belly button is cute!
3. He had his first bath at home - real bath, not sponge bath
4. He had a one week weigh-in, back up to 6#, 6oz
5. And he was circumcised - ouch!!!
6. AND he went shopping and out for lunch... man after my
own heart!!

We are all physically and emotionally exhausted, but
here are some cute pics!

Daddy giving Sawyer a bath...

There weren't any tears until Grandma lent a helping hand,
do you think she may be pinching him??
